1. What is EdgeLab?
EdgeLab is an AI-powered strategy research and trading tool built into your TelegramFX Copier subscription. It lets you research forex market patterns, build trading strategies through plain-English conversation, backtest them against years of historical data, and deploy them live to your broker — all without writing a single line of code. What EdgeLab is not EdgeLab is not a signal service, and it does not make trading decisions for you. It is a research tool. The AI surfaces patterns, runsFew readers10. Frequently Asked Questions — EdgeLab
Does EdgeLab cost extra? During beta, EdgeLab is included with all active TelegramFXCopier subscriptions. Do I need to install anything? No. EdgeLab is entirely browser-based. No VPS, no MetaTrader plugin, no desktop app. Does EdgeLab work with my broker? EdgeLab deploys strategies via MetaAPI, which supports MT4 and MT5 accounts at the vast majority of forex brokers. If TelegramFX Copier works with your broker, EdgeLab will too. What pairs and instruments can I research? EdgeLabFew readers6. Connecting a Broker Account
You need to connect a broker account before you can deploy a strategy to live trading. EdgeLab connects to brokers via MetaAPI — the same integration used by TelegramFX Copier. You can see the process for creating an account in MetaAPI here and connecting one here. You do not need a broker coFew readers9. Managing Your Strategy Library
The Strategies view (accessible from the top navigation) shows all strategies you have saved or deployed. It is your permanent record of research sessions. Saving a strategy Strategies can be saved at any point after a backtest has run: Click the Deploy tab in the results panel Enter a name in the Strategy name field Click Save to My Strategies Saving does not deploy the strategy — it just stores it to your library with its backtest metrics. You can deploy it later fromFew readers6. Parameter Sweeps — Testing Robustness
What is a parameter sweep? A parameter sweep is a test that runs your strategy across a range of input values — not just the single setting you specified — to see whether the results hold up or only work for one specific configuration. For example: if you tested a strategy using a 14-period RSI with a 30/70 threshold, a parameter sweep would also test RSI 10, 12, 14, 16, 18 and thresholds of 25/75, 28/72, 30/70, 32/68 — then compare all of the results side by side. A strategy that shows goodFew readers5. Out-of-Sample (OOS) Validation — What It Means and Why It Matters
The curve-fitting problem When a strategy is built and tested on the same data, it is easy to accidentally find settings that looked great historically purely by chance — not because there is real edge. This is called curve-fitting or overfitting. A curve-fitted strategy will appear profitable in backtesting but fail in live trading because its "edge" was just noise in the historical data. EdgeLab addresses this automatically using out-of-sample (OOS) validation. How OOS validation worksFew readers8. Deploying a Strategy to Live (Demo) Trading for Validation
Once a strategy has passed backtesting and OOS validation, you can deploy it to live trading directly from EdgeLab. This means EdgeLab will monitor the market and execute trades on your connected broker account according to the strategy rules. Before you deploy Make sure: You have at least one broker account connected (see: Connecting a Broker Account) Your backtest shows 30+ trades, positive expectancy, robustness ≥ 0.5, and an OOS PASS You have tested on a demo account first HowFew readers4. Understanding Your Backtest Results
When EdgeLab runs a backtest, the results appear automatically in the right-hand Metrics panel. Here is what each number means and what to look for. The main metrics Win Rate The percentage of trades that closed profitably. A win rate above 40% is shown in green; below 40% in red. Note that win rate alone tells you very little — a strategy with a 35% win rate and a 3R average winner can be highly profitable. Always read win rate alongside expectancy. Expectancy The average resultFew readers3. How to Describe a Strategy to EdgeLab
EdgeLab understands plain English. You do not need to know any programming, indicator formulas, or trading jargon beyond what you would naturally use talking to another trader. That said, the more specific your description, the better the AI can build and test what you actually have in mind. Starting with a research question You do not have to arrive with a complete strategy. You can start with an observation or a question, and let the AI help you develop it: "Does EURUSD tend to trend orFew readers2. How to Access EdgeLab
