How Fast Is Our Software?
Two of the most common questions we get are "How fast is your software?" and "Can I use it for scalping?"
The software itself is quite fast, with processing times of just a few milliseconds. However, that's not the entire story. Copy trading through Telegram involves multiple layers of software and API's. It's important to understand how this affects a trading system. All software introduces latencies, which is why we don't recommend any Telegram copy trading system for scalping.
Telegram API vs Telegram App: Important Timing Differences
Our copy trading system connects to Telegram using the Telegram API, not the Telegram mobile or desktop app.
Because of this, messages may arrive later than what you see in the Telegram app.
This behavior is normal and outside our control.
Why the Telegram App Is Faster
The Telegram app is built for people.
It connects directly to Telegramโs fastest delivery network and is optimized for real-time messaging.
The Telegram API, however, is designed for software and automation.
Messages must pass through additional systems before they are delivered to API users.
Why Message Delays Can Happen
When using the Telegram API, message delivery time can be affected by:
- ๐ Your geographic location
- โฐ Time of day
- ๐ Overall Telegram server traffic
- ๐ Telegram API rate limits and internal queues
Because of this, instant delivery is not guaranteed.
Message delays can range from seconds to several minutes.
During very busy periods on Telegram, delays of as much as 10 minutes can occur.
This is a known limitation of the Telegram API.
All Telegram copy trading systems are affected, not just ours.
Why Telegram Copy Trading Is Not Suitable for Scalping
Scalping requires very fast execution and precise timing.
Telegram-based copy trading involves multiple software steps:
- Signal is posted in Telegram
- Telegram API receives the message
- Our system processes the signal
- Order is sent to MetaTrader 4 or 5
- MetaTrader sends the order to your broker
Each step adds small delays. When combined, these delays make scalping unreliable.
What This Means for Traders
- โ Not recommended for scalping or high-frequency trading
- โ Not suitable for trades that depend on seconds
- โ Best for swing trades, intraday trades, and position trades
Summary
- Telegram API and Telegram app work differently
- Telegram API message delays are normal and unavoidable
- Delays can sometimes be several minutes
- All Telegram copy trading systems share this limitation
- Telegram copy trading should not be used for scalping
If your trading strategy depends on instant execution, a Telegram-based system is not the right tool.
